There’s been a quiet but steady unfolding of something we once only dreamed about: a life that feels like ours. A rhythm that fits. A version of “perfect” that looks a little messy, a lot meaningful, and completely us.
Years ago, we used to pray for a life where Patrick and I could spend more time together. We didn’t know the answer would come in the form of co-owning and running a gym but here we are, side by side, every day. And honestly, one of the biggest blessings in what we do is just that: being together.
Another huge bonus? Our kids get to be part of it too. There was a time when Patrick’s only moments with them were the brief bedtime window, often walking in right as I was trying to get them to sleep. We don’t take for granted that those days are behind us. Now, they come to work with us. They see us build something. They belong to it too.
Just the other day, I filled in for Patrick’s early morning class while he was out of town helping a friend. Naturally, the first question from members was, “Where’s Pat?” At most jobs, you don’t get asked where someone is on their day off, but this isn’t most jobs. This is a community that feels like family.
That small moment reminded me of something big: this place, this gym, is full of people who care. They know about our lives, and we know about theirs. We share life inside and outside of workouts. It’s not just about fitness. It’s about real connection and we wouldn’t trade that for anything.
